Rachel Duncan

Academic Advisor

Biography

Rachel Duncan joined the ISE team in 2019 as the academic advisor for undergraduate students. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English with minors in education and writing from Middle Tennessee State University where she worked in the offices of admissions, housing and residential life, and for the College of Education. She earned her master’s degree in higher education administration while working as a peer academic advisor through housing and residential life.

She worked as an academic advisor for the College of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati for two years before settling in Knoxville, TN, as stay-at-home mother. As her three children got into school themselves, she returned to higher education to work with college students again at the University of Tennessee in the College of Engineering.

Rachel loves helping students make the huge transitional step into adulthood by starting college, assisting them in achieving their dreams and goals. She considers it an honor to get to celebrate in their success right alongside them. When she is not at UT, she loves shopping for bargains and planning parties!
