Joseph Stainback

Biography

In addition to serving as a Research Assistant Professor for the I&IE department, Dr. Stainback has worked in industry his entire career and has spent most of his profession on programs associated with the United States’ Department of Energy. Currently, Dr. Stainback is an employee at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Stainback has acquired over 27 years Manufacturing, Project Management and Program Management experience as a career Babcock & Wilcox employee.

Research

Human Behavior (as related to Productivity), Workplace Performance and Efficiency (Overall Productivity / Process Engineering), Lean Systems, Macroergonomics, Organizational and Industrial Psychology, and organizational problem solving using analytical tools such as Statistics, Optimization, and/or Simulation. Our I&IE Research Group is focused on the Human Behavior aspects of Productivity.
