Data analytics involves the development and application of statistical and quantitative analysis methods and the construction of explanatory and predictive models to drive the decision-making process. Students completing the certificate will have a basic foundation of critical tools to extract useful information from big data, as well as for modeling, simulation, optimization and decision analysis in order to support efficient data-driven decision making. The certificate is available for distance students.
Credit Hours Required
A minimum of 12 graduate credit hours (4 courses) is required for the certificate.

Non-Course Requirements
To receive the certificate, students must:
1) complete the Graduate Certificate Course Verification Form (located on the Graduate School webpage under the Forms Central tab) and
2) through MyUTK, apply to graduate from the certificate program.
