David Soukup (MS ’81) was named a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). Soukup was inducted at the IISE’s 2024 Annual Conference and Expo, held in Montreal, Canada in May.
Soukup, a licensed professional engineer who holds degrees in systems and industrial engineering, is an adjunct professor at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering. He launched a student chapter of IISE at NYU in 2020.
Soukup is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and has membership in the Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi Honor societies. He received the Outstanding Professional Engineer in Education Award from the New York State Society of Professional Engineers.
After graduating from UT, Soukup taught graduate level survey of industrial engineering principles in operations research, total quality management, and production planning and control in 1982.
