Dr. Jack Feng has held this newly established position with CVG since October 2014. Prior to that, he established various leadership positions within Caterpillar in lean, 6-Sigma, advanced industrial and manufacturing planning and strategic HR including an international assignment to Asia Pacific in 2010-2011. Dr. Feng was a tenured Full Professor at Bradley University, and an Assistant Professor at Penn State. He was the Central Illinois Chapter President of IIE between 1999 and 2010. Between 1995 and 2008, his consulting company has provided services to Boeing, Caterpillar, Cincinnati Machine, NSF, Rockwell Int’l, Rubbermaid, SME, Tyco, and US State Dept. Fulbright Program.  He serves on the Editorial Board of IJPR, Council of Industrial & Systems Engineering of IIE, and on Board of Directors of the Greater Columbus (Ohio) Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Feng has published over 100 technical articles with over 20 of them appeared in the top level peer reviewed journals such as IIE Transactions. He has co-authored five books and three book chapters in manufacturing. Dr. Feng’s biography was cited in Who’s Who in America, in American Educators, and in Science and Technology.

Abstract: Lean 6-Sigma has been adopted widely and worldwide to improve competitive advantages. In this presentation, Dr. Feng will outline the deployment models including the program overview, training programs, organizational designs, and benefits tracking at Commercial Vehicle Group and Caterpillar based on his hands-on experiences both as a consultant and as a full time employee of the above two multinational corporations.
