Sierra Frech, Junior; Hannah Jarrett, Senior; Kylie White, Senior

The Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) student chapter was selected to host the 2017 IIE Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference next February. Hosting provides UT a great opportunity to showcase its wonderful industrial engineering students, facilities, programs, faculty, and corporate relationships to roughly 300 industrial engineering students from ten other universities in the region. IIE regional conferences, which UT last hosted in 2011, are fantastic learning and networking opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning how to apply industrial engineering principles throughout their careers. To assist the IIE student chapter in hosting the most successful regional conference to-date, please visit ise.utk.edu and select “Give to ISE”. Donations to the Industrial & Systems Engineering Fund throughout 2016 will be focused in support of our work to host an exceptional 2017 IIE Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference. We are grateful for your gifts!

The IIE Mid-Atlantic Region consists of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, and West Virginia. This region includes seven IIE professional chapters located in Memphis, Nashville, Raleigh, Richmond, Upstate South Carolina, Southern Piedmont (North Carolina), and Washington, D.C. UT anticipates hosting students from the following universities at the 2017 IIE Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference: Clemson, East Carolina, Morgan State, North Carolina A&T, NC State, South Carolina State, Tennessee Tech, UT Chattanooga, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.
